X62 Delays - Due to Roadworks

Due to various sets of temporary traffic lights & congestion along the route, our X62 service is currently experiencing delays, particularly during peak times.

Remembrance Day Parades, 8th of November.
Remembrance Day Parades, 8th of November.
On the above date numerous events will take place across our region for this year’s Remembrance Day that will affect services, between 10:30 and 15:30.
Below the following services will be severely delayed by road closures.
Service X62 departing Galashiels 1020 for Peebles and departing Peebles 1107 for Galashiels may be subjected to delays in Walkerburn and Innerleithen.
Service X95 departing Galashiels 1015 and 1115 to Hawick and departing Hawick 1005 and 1105 to Galashiels may be subjected to delays in Selkirk.
Galashiels town centre will be closed when events take place between 1200-1330 during these events delays will be experienced on services 51, 60, 67, 68, 70, 73, X62 and X95.
Please be aware that all our services may be affected at different locations however these are the main closures that will affect services.

X95 Carlisle to Hawick

Due to roadworks, the x95 from Carlisle will be diverted in Hawick.
The bus will turn up from Commercial road up to Princes Street and go to Mart St from there.
Sainsburys stop will not be served at this time.

Service Update – 51 & X95 Diversion
SERVICE UPDATE – 51 & X95
Due to major congestion at The Wisp, services 51 and X95 are operating on diversion in both directions.
51 – Diverting at Kings Gate, via Dobbies and Gilmerton towards Edinburgh City Centre.
X95 – Diverting via Gilmerton.
Please note the only stops being served between Kings Gate and South Clerk Street will be Moredunvale Road bus stop on Gilmerton Road, Lady Road Interchange and Salisbury Place on the diversion for both services.

Service 60 Diversion within Duns

Due to roadworks within the industrial estate we will continue to serve Knoll and Industrial Estate but will divert along the middle road of the Industrial Estate just past the Scotland shop.
Lauder High Street - Major Evening Resurfacing Works

We have been informed that major evening resurfacing works within Lauder town centre will be carried out that will result in service 51 terminating and departing from Thirlestane Drive as follows.
Monday 12th – Friday 30th October excluding weekends , departures from Galashiels at 1846 and 2046 to Lauder will terminate at Thirlestane Drive and the departure from Lauder to Galashiels at 1934 and 2134 will depart from Thirlestane Drive.
All other journeys not mentioned will operate normal route with minor delays.

Roadworks Innerleithen. - Stops not in use.
Roadworks Innerleithen.
We have been informed that there will be essential SGN works being carried out on Horsbrugh Street, Innerleithen between Monday 19th October until Friday 11th December 2026 that will affect services X62 and school service P06.
Although road closure is on Horsbrugh Street, the bus stops on Pirn Road will be closed when traffic control is in operation at the junction with the A72.
Customers will be required to board and alight on the Main High Street stops during this time.
In relation to the P06 service to/from Peebles High School, all pupils be required to board and alight on the High Street that normally boarded on Buccleuch Street, Innerleithen during these works.

A6091 - Galafoot Bridge Closure & Additional Overnight Closures
We would like to inform our customers that we have been informed that Galafoot Bridge will be closed eastbound to allow major deck refurbishment works to take place. The closure will begin at 06:00 on Monday 5 October and will remain in place until the works are completed.
Services 67 and 68: From Kingsknowe Roundabout, services will operate via the A7 and B6360 Abbotsford to Tweedbank Roundabout, where they will rejoin their normal route.
Service 314: From Galashiels Fire Station, this service will operate via Tweed Road, Winston Road, B6374 Lowood Bridge and Tweedbank Bypass, rejoining its normal route at Tweedbank Roundabout.
Minor timetable adjustments will be made to allow for the additional journey time between Kingsknowe and Tweedbank.
Services operating from Tweedbank towards Galashiels are not affected by this closure.
We have also informed that there will be additional evening full bridge closures that will affect evening journeys on services 67 and 68.
The following dates below for evening services will result in services 67 and 68 diverting from Tweedbank Roundabout via Tweedbank bypass A6091, Lowood Bridge and Langlee omitting normal bus stops between Kingsknowe roundabout and Galashiels Interchange.

Lowther Street, Carlisle Bus Stand Closures.

Lowther Street, Carlisle Bus Stand Closures.
We have been advised that the bus stands on Lowther Street, Carlisle will be closed from Tuesday 1st of September 2026 to allow essential street refurbishment works to be carried out.
As a result, Service X95 will temporarily relocate from Stand K (Club Britannia) to Stand J (Howards Arms), located further north along Lowther Street.
The local authority anticipates that these works will remain in place until January 2027.

Bus Stop Improvement Works.
Preparation works for new real-time information screens will begin at a number of bus stops across the Scottish Borders.
During these works, some bus stops may temporarily be without their usual bus stop pole or flag. These stops will remain in use and buses will continue to serve them as normal unless specifically advised otherwise.
